Bell Equipment is seeking applications from eligible unemployed South African youth for its 2024 apprenticeship programmes. Young people have until the 22nd of March 2024 to submit their online applications to be considered for this opportunity.

About the Bell Equipment Apprenticeships 

Through these apprenticeship programmes, Bell Equipment is dedicated to providing unemployed individuals with learning and work experience in the mining and engineering equipment sectors. The programme offers successful applicants the chance to gain valuable skills while earning an income.

APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The following apprenticeship programmes are available:

• Auto Electrician
• Boilermaker (Maintenance Department)
• Millwright (Maintenance Department) 
• Fitter (Maintenance Department) 
• Air Conditioner Mechanic (Tool & Design Department)
• Fitter & Turner 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BELL EQUIPMENT APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMMES

To qualify for the Bell Equipment Apprenticeship Programmes, you must meet the following requirements:

Auto Electrician:

• N2 with four subjects & the relevant trade theory subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics / Electronics’  pass ABET L4 Assessment (Numeracy & Literacy)
• Must be in good physical health and willing to undergo a medical examination and other relevant assessments 
• Code 08/B Driver’s license.
• Must reside within a 50km radius from the Bell Richards Bay factory.

Boilermaker:

• N2 with four subjects & the relevant trade theory subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering/Palters Drawing and Boilermaker / Platters Trade Theory OR National Certificate Vocational (NCV) L4 ERD (Engineering Related Design with welding as subject).
• Must pass ABET L4 Assessment (Numeracy & Literacy)
• Must be in good physical health and willing to undergo a medical examination and other relevant assessments.
• Code 08/B Driver’s license.
• Must reside within a 50km radius from the Bell Richards Bay factory.

Millwright:

• N2 with four subjects & the relevant trade theory subjects (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing/Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory) OR National Certificate Vocational (NCV) L4 (EIC) Electrical Infrastructure & Construction
• Must pass ABET level 4 assessment (Numeracy & literacy)
• Must be in good physical health and willing to undergo a medical examination and other assessments
• Code 08/B Driver’s license.
• Must reside within a 50km radius from the Bell Richards Bay factory.

Fitter:

• N2 with four subjects & the relevant trade theory subjects (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, Fitting & Machining Theory) OR National Certificate Vocational (NCV) L4 in Fitting & Turning ERD (Engineering Related Design)
• Must pass ABET L4 Assessment (Numeracy & Literacy)
• Must be in good physical health and willing to undergo a medical examination and other assessments 
• Code 08/B Driver’s license.
• Must reside within a 50km radius from the Bell Richards Bay factory.

Air Conditioner Mechanic: 

• N2 with four subjects & the relevant trade theory subjects (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing/Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory) OR National Certificate Vocational (NCV) L4 (EIC) Electrical Infrastructure & Construction
• Must pass ABET level 4 assessment (Numeracy & literacy)
• Must be in good physical health and willing to undergo a medical examination and other assessments
• Code 08/B Driver’s license 
• Must reside within a 50km radius from the Bell Richards Bay factory.

Fitter and Turner:

• N2 with four subjects & the relevant trade theory subjects (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, Fitting & Machining Theory) OR National Certificate Vocational (NCV) L4 in Fitting & Turning ERD (Engineering Related Design)
• Must pass ABET L4 Assessment (Numeracy & Literacy)
• Must be in good physical health and willing to undergo a medical examination and other job relevant assessments 
• Code 08/B Driver’s license.
• Must reside within a 50km radius from the Bell Richards Bay factory.

Added advantages:

• Working experience in engineering industry
• Completed a basic hand skill and measuring equipment course
