CJC is currently accepting applications for both new and returning students. Here's a breakdown of the courses available in the third trimester for returning students:
NOTE: New students should apply for N4. These N4-level courses are ideal for students beginning their technical journey, particularly those with a strong background in mathematics or technical subjects.
Returning students can continue their progression through the National Certificate (N) series, building deeper technical knowledge and increasing their employability with each level completed.
The requirements vary depending on whether you are a new or returning applicant.
You must meet one of the following academic criteria:
A Grade 12 pass with Mathematics
A Technical Grade 12 certificate, or
An NCV Level 4 certificate (especially from another TVET college)
These credentials qualify you to apply for an N4-level programme.
Eligibility depends on your current qualifications:
To apply for N3, you need to have passed N2.
To apply for N4, you must have completed N3 or NCV Level 4.
All new applicants must write a placement and screening test before applying. This assessment evaluates your academic readiness and helps match you with the most suitable programme. Failing to complete this step will result in automatic disqualification.

As South Africa continues to face high youth unemployment rates, TVET colleges like CJC play a critical role in upskilling young people for the workforce.
Many of the programmes offered at CJC are aligned with scarce and critical skills identified by the Department of Higher Education and Training.
This means that graduates often leave with qualifications that are in high demand in the job market.
The third trimester of 2025 presents a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills that will empower your future. Central Johannesburg TVET College offers more than just academic qualifications—it provides real, practical training that opens doors to employment and entrepreneurship.
Don't miss this chance. Submit your application before the deadline and take the first step toward a better future.
