It is available for download via this link: https://shorturl.at/dvpUG. The document provides further insights into the expectations of the role, potential outcomes, and benefits for both the ambassadors and the communities they serve.

A Broader National Strategy

The programme aims to close this gap by equipping individuals with fundamental digital skills that will improve their employability, access to information, and ability to engage with digital platforms.

NEMISA’s broader vision includes training over 1 million South Africans in digital literacy by 2030. This initiative, launched in partnership with various TVET colleges and community organizations, is a critical step toward achieving that goal.

By placing local ambassadors in communities, the programme ensures that interventions are culturally sensitive, localized, and effective in addressing specific digital education needs.

Final Thoughts

The Ya Rona Digital Programme is part of a national effort by NEMISA to promote digital literacy and technological awareness across South Africa. As the digital economy grows, the country faces a widening digital divide, particularly in rural and low-income communities.

Digital literacy is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. Programmes like Ya Rona Digital, backed by reputable institutions like NEMISA and Sedibeng TVET College, play a vital role in ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age.

For young leaders, aspiring educators, or simply those who want to make a difference, the Digital Ambassador role offers a unique blend of service, growth, and impact.
