The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency in collaboration with the National Skills Fund (NSF) is inviting qualifying candidates to apply for a variety of work skills programmes. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply before the deadline.

About Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency & NSF

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency was established in April 2006 through the merger of the now-defunct Mpumalanga Parks Board and Mpumalanga Tourism Authority. The agency’s primary objective is to promote sustainable economic growth that is equitable, generates decent employment opportunities, and grows tourism.

The National Skills Fund (NSF) in was founded in 1999. The primary focus of the NSF’s funding portfolio for skills development is on education and training initiatives like workplace-based learning, learnership and skills programs, bursaries, and scholarships. Additionally, NSF funding aims to improve the post-school education and training system by investing in skills infrastructure, building capacity, and supporting research and innovation.

 

ABOUT THE MPUMALANGA TOURISM AND PARKS AGENCY & NSF WORK SKILLS PROGRAMMES 

Candidates will undergo training and receive workplace skills development, the programmes will be over a 12 month period. 

The following programmes are open for 2024:

  • NC: Food and Beverage Services NQF Level 4
  • NC: Community House Building NQF Level 2
  • FETC: Plumbing Level 4

 

MPUMALANGA TOURISM AND PARKS AGENCY & NSF WORK SKILLS PROGRAMMES REQUIREMENTS:

To qualify for the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency & NSF programmes, you need to meet the following requirements:

NC: Food and Beverage Services NQF Level 4

  • You must be unemployed.
  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must be between the ages of 18-35 years.
  • You must have a minimum of Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
  • You must be a resident of Nelspruit or Hazyview (surrounding areas are permitted to apply) 
  • You must have a passion or interest for people, tourism, and the hospitality industry.
  • You must not have participated in the same programme before.

NC: Community House Building NQF Level 4 & FETC: Plumbing Level 4

  • You must be unemployed.
  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must be energetic and capable of handling manual labour.
  • You must be between the ages of 18-35 years.
  • You must have a minimum of Grade 12 (Matric) qualification (with Maths/Maths Literacy.
  • You must be a resident of the Barberton area, in the city of Mbombela local municipality. 
  • You must have a passion or interest in the construction industry.
  • You must not have participated in the same programme before.
  • Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
     

NB: No more than ONE learner per household

 

MPUMALANGA TOURISM AND PARKS AGENCY & NSF WORK SKILLS PROGRAMMES REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

To apply successfully for the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency & NSF Work skills programmes, you need to attach the following documents:

  • Full CV (including local municipality, ward number, home address, contact information and reference number of the programme you are applying for) 
  • Your certified ID copy
  • Your certified copies of all relevant qualifications. (Matric)
  • Proof of residence 
  • Motivational letter with the correct reference number of the programme you are applying for.

  • Hazyview: F&B/HAZ/60
     

NC: Community House Building NQF Level 2

  • CHB/MBO/30
     

FETC: Plumbing Level 4

Note: Certified copies must not be older than THREE months.

CLOSING DATE:

The deadline for applications is the 19th of April 2024, remember to attach all the required documents with your application as late and incomplete applications may be disqualified. Should you not be contacted within a month after the closing, consider your application unsuccessful.
