The college was formed through the merger of several previous technical colleges and has grown to become one of the largest and most dynamic TVET institutions in the country, with over 30,000 students enrolled across its various campuses.

SWGC offers a wide range of programmes, from entry-level National Certificate (Vocational) courses to advanced NATED (N4–N6) diplomas, all of which are fully accredited by Umalusi, relevant Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), and other quality assurance bodies. Programmes Offered for Trimester 3 at SWGC

  • Civil Engineering and Building Construction (NATED course)
  • Civil Engineering  (NATED course)
  • Electrical Engineering  (NATED course)
  • Mechanical Engineering (NATED course)
  • Chemical Engineering (NATED course)

NATED programmes (also called “Report 191”) are designed for students who have completed Grade 12 and are looking to specialize in specific career-oriented fields. 

These programmes are offered from N4 to N6 levels, after which students can apply for a National Diploma upon completing 18 months of relevant workplace experience.
